• Real estate and land registry

  Title history, liens, attachments, mortgages and zoning defects identified before the money moves, and the transfer itself carried through the land registry.

• Company law

  Incorporation, share transfers, shareholder agreements and foreign capital work under the Turkish Commercial Code, including branch and liaison office structures.

• Family law and succession

  Divorce, custody, maintenance, inheritance and certificates of succession; where a foreign element exists, jurisdiction and applicable law are set under Law No. 5718.

• Deportation and entry bans

  Appeals against removal decisions under Article 53(3) of Law No. 6458, where the seven-day application suspends the removal, and applications to lift entry-ban codes.

• Recognition and enforcement

  Recognition and enforcement in Türkiye of foreign judgments and arbitral awards under Law No. 5718 - the step that turns a foreign win into a local recovery.

• Consumer law

  Claims under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 before the arbitration committees and consumer courts, alongside the public-interest programme of TÜSODER.

Serkan Kara read law at Uludağ University and has practised since 2015 as a lawyer on the roll of the Istanbul Bar Association, No. 53770. The work concentrates on matters that touch at least two legal systems: investment and citizenship files, cross-border disputes, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

Before that he completed the CUSL certificate in United States law at the University of Cologne, 2012 to 2013. Comparative training is not decoration in this work: the same contractual clause carries different consequences under continental civil law and under Anglo-American common law, and a foreign client's exposure usually sits precisely in that gap. Reading both systems is what makes a Turkish file predictable to a foreign board.

Alongside private practice he serves as Vice President of TÜSODER, the Turkish consumer-rights association. He is the founder of Serka Hukuk Bürosu, the office through which the Türkiye practice runs; the same practice appears internationally as serkalaw.com.
